Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- oleo - 6 Tbsp
- white sugar - 1 c
- oats - 1 c
- Cream Crisco and sugar well
How to make oatmeal cake:
Mix oats and water and set aside to cool. Cream Crisco and sugar well. Add eggs and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture. Add oatmeal and beat well. Bake in oblong pan at 350° for about 30 minutes.Topping:4 Tbsp. evaporated milk3/4 c. brown sugar6 Tbsp. oleo1 c. chopped nuts1 c. coconut Mix all ingredients, spread on top of baked cake and place under broiler until brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
