- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- oatmeal - 1 c
- shortening or margarine - 1/2 c

How to make oatmeal cake:
Combine oatmeal and water and set aside for 20 minutes. Cream together brown sugar, sugar, shortening and eggs. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon and add to creamed mixture. Add oatmeal and beat well. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. About 5 to 10 minutes before cake is done, make Brown Sugar Topping.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
