Oatmeal cake



Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- chopped dates - 1/2 c
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- canned milk - 1/2 c
- each cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt - 1/2 tsp
- Cream shortening and add sugar
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour water over oats. Cream shortening and add sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, then add flour. Fold in oats with dates and nuts. Bake at 300° for 60 minutes.Topping:6 Tbsp. margarine1/2 c. brown sugar1 c. coconut1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. canned milk1/2 c. chopped nuts Melt margarine. Add rest of ingredients.
