Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- butter
- egg yolks - 2 item
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- egg - 1 item
- egg whites - 2 item
- nuts - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- white sugar - 1 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- regular flour
How to make oatmeal cake:
Topping:4 Tbsp. butter3/4 c. brown sugar3 Tbsp. milk2 egg yolks1 c. coconut1 c. nuts Pour boiling water over oats. Set aside for 20 minutes. Cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar, egg and vanilla. Pour over oats. Mix together the flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Gradually add to the creamed mixture while beating. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Grease and flour a 9 x 11-inch pan. Bake for 45 minutes at 350°.Topping: Cream together the butter, sugar, milk and egg yolks. Add coconut and nuts. Put mixture on top of cake, pierced with a fork, to allow the topping to run down into the cake. Bake 15 minutes.
