  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • quick oats - 1 c
  • Cream together shortening and sugars

How to make oatmeal cake:

Mix oats, boiling water and soda; let stand for 20 minutes. Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs and beat well. Add oats mixture. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in greased 13 x 9-inch pans. Bake at 300° for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool and frost with following frosting.Frosting:1 1/4 c. powdered sugar1 c. brown sugar1 stick margarine1 c. coconut Mix all ingredients and thin with cream. Spread on cake. Place under broiler for 5 minutes.
