Oatmeal cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- egg yolks - 2 item
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- quick oatmeal - 1 c
- Stir and set aside
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Stir and set aside. Cream together the sugars and Crisco. Add eggs, beating after each. Add flour gradually. Add the rest of ingredients. Whip up oatmeal and add to creamed ingredients. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Topping:1/2 c. melted margarine1 c. brown sugar1 c. coconut1 c. chopped nuts2 egg yolks approximately 2 Tbsp. milk Mix all except milk together and add enough milk to spread.
