- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour
- rolled oats - 2 c
- warm water - 1/2 c
- light brown sugar - 1/2 c
- butter or Crisco - 2/3 c
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- scalded milk
How to make oatmeal bread:
Mix milk, oats, butter, salt and brown sugar. Cool to lukewarm. Combine yeast and water. Stir in oat mixture. Mix with eggs and flour and let stand 1 hour. Punch down. Divide in 2 loaves. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350° for 45 to 60 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Low fat, Yeast breads.
