Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- water - 2 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- plain flour - 5 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- black walnuts - 1 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
- warm milk - 1 c
- Filling:1 1/2 box raisins
How to make nut roll:
Filling:1 1/2 box raisins1 c. black walnuts2 c. water1 c. sugar2 tsp. cornstarch Grind raisins and nuts. Cook raisins, walnuts, water, sugar and cornstarch about 10 minutes after it starts boiling.Mix together yeast, warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Mix ingredients and let rise in covered bowl for 1 hour. Divide in 4 parts. Roll out. Spread filling over dough. Roll up like jelly roll. Put in pan sprayed with Pam. Take sharp knife or scissors and slit top of dough in 4 places. Beat egg, brush on top. Let rise 20 minutes. Bake in 350° oven until brown, approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
