Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • flour - 6 c
  • butter - 1 lb
  • evaporated milk - 3/4 c
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • egg whites - 2 item
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • ground walnuts
  • large cake yeast - 1 item

How to make nut horns:

Filling:2 lb. ground walnuts2 egg whites2 c. sugar Dissolve yeast in water. Mix flour, butter and eggs. Add yeast mixture and milk; knead. Refrigerate at least 6 hours. Roll out dough on sugared board using 1 cup powdered sugar to 3/4 cup white sugar. Cut into triangles (2 1/2-inch sides). Put filling along one edge and roll (like crescent rolls). Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
