Ingredients/Components

  • powdered sugar - 4 c
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1/4 c
  • light corn syrup - 1/3 c
  • drops red food coloring - 2 item
  • peppermint extract oil - 1 tsp

How to make no cook mints:

In a bowl, mix corn syrup, butter and peppermint. Beat well. Gradually add 2 cups of powdered sugar. Beat. Stir in as much of the remaining powdered sugar as possible with a spoon.

Turn out onto a powdered sugar surface and knead in remaining powdered sugar until dough is stiff and smooth. Knead in coloring.

Shape in small marble-sized balls. Place on foil and gently press with fork. (Dough could also be divided to make other flavors, such as spearmint or wintergreen and using other colors.) Makes approximately 75 mints.
