  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • sour cream - 1 pt
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • can crushed pineapple
  • lemon juice
  • margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
  • creamed cottage cheese - 1 lb
  • soft cream cheese - 1 lb

How to make new york style cheesecake:

Glaze:1 (9 oz.) can crushed pineapple2 tsp. lemon juice1/4 c. sugar1 Tbsp. cornstarch1 Tbsp. water Preheat oven to 325°. Grease a 9-inch spring-form pan. In large bowl at high speed, beat the cream cheese with cottage cheese until creamy. Gradually beat in sugar, then eggs, until well combined. At low speed, beat in cornstarch, flour, lemon juice and vanilla. Add melted margarine and sour cream; beat until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until firm around edges. Turn off oven. Let cake stand in oven for 2 hours. Remove from oven; let cool completely. Refrigerate until well chilled (several hours). To serve, run spatula around side of cheesecake to loosen. Remove side of spring-form pan. Leave bottom of pan in place.

Glaze: Heat pineapple with lemon juice and sugar until it comes to a boil. Blend cornstarch with the water; stir into pineapple mixture until thick and clear. Cool; spread over cake.
