New orleans bean soup
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
- water - 4 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- dash of salt and pepper - 1 item
- stalks celery - 2 item
- garlic cloves, minced - 2 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- carrot - 1 item
- finely chopped parsley - 2 Tbsp
- dried thyme - 1/2 tsp
- vegetable bouillon cube - 1 item
- cans red kidney beans - 2 item
- smoked ham - 4 oz
- large yellow onion - 1 item
How to make new orleans bean soup:
Peel and chop onion; rinse celery and carrot. Cut into thin strips. Cut ham into cubes or strips. In a large saucepan, melt butter. Add onion and saute until soft. Add celery, carrot and garlic. Saute for a few minutes until soft but not brown. AddRecipe categories: Soups & stews, Pork, Ham.
