New england clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- cans minced clams, drained reserve liquid - 3 1/2
- water - 1 item
- salt pork or bacon, finely diced - 1/4 lb
- diced onion - 1 c
- diced potato - 3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- white pepper - 1/4 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- chopped parsley - 2 Tbsp
How to make new england clam chowder:
Add enough water to clam liquid to make 2 cups; reserve. Fry pork in large kettle over medium heat until crisp and golden. Remove with slotted spoon and set aside.
