Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 3 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
  • water - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening
  • vinegar or lemon juice - 1 Tbsp

How to make never fail pie crust:

Combine egg, water and vinegar or lemon juice. Mix the first 5 ingredients with pastry blender, then add the liquids. Makes enough crust for 6 single or 3 double pies. Can keep in refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks. Put to room temperature before using.
