Mushroom turnovers
Ingredients/Components
- cream cheese - 3 oz
- sour cream - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- fresh mushrooms, chopped
- stick butter, softened - 1 item
How to make mushroom turnovers:
Filling:1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, chopped1/2 c. chopped onion3 Tbsp. butter2 Tbsp. flour1 tsp. salt pepper to taste1/4 tsp. thyme1/4 c. sour cream Pastry: Cream butter and cream cheese. Add flour and blend to form soft dough. Chill for 1 hour.Filling: Saute chopped mushrooms and onion in butter for 5 minutes. Blend in flour, salt, thyme and pepper. Stir in sour cream and remove from heat.
Turnovers: Roll out dough to pastry-thickness and cut in 3-inch circles. Place 1 tablespoon filling on each circle. Fold over and seal edges with fork tines. Prick top of each turnover to allow steam to escape. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
