Mushroom caviar
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- mayonnaise - 1 2
- medium onion, minced - 1 item
- fresh mushrooms, finely chopped - 1/2 lb
- to 8 turns fresh ground pepper - 6 item
How to make mushroom caviar:
Saute onion in butter until golden brown. Add mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes, stirring to mix well. Add the lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and remove from stove. Now add enough mayonnaise to blend and add the salt and pepper to taste. Mound into an attractive ball on one of your favorite serving dishes, cover and place in the refrigerator until well chilled. Serve with Melba toast or your favorite cracker. Yields 1 3/4 cups.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Mushroom, Spreads.
