Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 4 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- warm water - 1/4 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- Set aside
- scalded milk, cooled
- ground pecans optional
How to make monkey bread:
In a small bowl, mix yeast and water. Set aside. Mix sugar, butter and eggs. Beat as you would a cake. Add milk and yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and salt. Turn out on a floured board and knead until smooth. Set in a warm place to rise until it doubles in size. Knead again and cut into 48 balls. Roll each ball in Coating Mixture.Coating Mixture:1 c. melted butter1 1/2 c. sugar1 1/2 c. ground pecans (optional)4 Tbsp. cinnamon1 tsp. nutmeg Place in a well-greased tube pan. Let rise for 1 hour.
