Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 6 c
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- boiling water - 1 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
- lukewarm water - 1 c
How to make monkey bread:
Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water. In large bowl, add 1 cup Crisco, sugar, salt and boiling water. Dissolve, then add yeast mixture and beaten eggs. Add flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing well. Scrape sides of bowl and smooth top. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. Punch down and knead. Pull off small pieces. Dip in melted margarine and place in greased Bundt pan until about half full. Let rise again. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Low protein, Breads, Rolls/biscuits.
