- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- egg - 1 item
- yellow cornmeal - 1-1/2 c
- hot bacon grease - 3 Tbsp
- HOT IRON SKILLET - 1 item
How to make mom's cornbread:
Combine cornmeal, flour, salt and soda in large mixing bowl. Add egg and buttermilk. Mix until smooth. Stir in hot bacon grease. Return to hot skillet. Bake in pre-heated oven at 425° 18-20 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Vegetables, Corn.
