Molasses taffy
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- soda - 1/8 tsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- fat - 1 Tbsp
- molasses or sorghum
How to make molasses taffy:
Boil first 3 ingredients to hard ball stage. Add fat, soda and salt. Remove from fire; stir until soda is blended and pour into greased tins. When cool, pull between ungreased fingertips until candy is white in color and stiff. Cut in 1-inch pieces. Wrap in oil paper.Recipe categories: Desserts, Candy, American.
