Molasses popcorn balls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- molasses - 1 c
- margarine - 1 Tbsp
- popped, plain popcorn - 5 qt
How to make molasses popcorn balls:
Cook first 4 ingredients to a hard crack stage, 260°. Add popped corn and stir with a strong wooden mixing spoon quickly. Butter hands frequently; form corn into balls and lay on waxed paper. Cool.Caution: This can burn hands if you try to press too firmly with hands.
Wrap cooled popcorn balls in individual sheets of waxed paper and put in a paper grocery bag and hide until ready to eat them. Be careful for any fillings or crowns on your teeth. This will pull them off. Ha!
