Molasses crumb cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 Tbsp
- margarine - 1/2 lb
- hot water - 2 c
- cloves - 1 tsp
- baking molasses - 1 c
How to make molasses crumb cake:
Mix flour, sugar and margarine to form crumbs. Reserve 1 cup crumbs for topping. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add molasses and spices. Mix with remaining 3 cups crumbs. Pour into greased and floured oblong pan. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until done.Recipe categories: Breads, Coffee cakes, Pennsylvania dutch.
