Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- flour - 4 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1 c
- molasses
How to make molasses cookies:
Melt shortening in a pan. Dissolve sugar in melted shortening. Dissolve 1 teaspoon soda in molasses. Take pan off stove and add molasses mixture, mixing well. Put 1 teaspoon baking soda in boiling water and add it to ingredients. Mix well. Gradually stir in approximately 4 cups of flour. Chill for at least an hour. Roll and cut out cookies.
