  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • sifted flour - 2 c
  • cloves - 1/4 tsp

How to make molasses cookies:

Melt shortening and cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg. Sift in flour. Add other ingredients. Mix well and chill. Roll in balls with sugar. Bake at 325° for 8 to 10 minutes.
