Molasses cookies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/3 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- molasses - 1/3 c
- ground cloves - 1/4 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- ground ginger
- ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
How to make molasses cookies:
In large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, egg and molasses until light and fluffy. Mix in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375°. Grease baking sheet; set aside.Shape into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet. Flatten each cookie with bottom of drinking glass. Bake at 375° for about 10 minutes. Remove to cooling rack. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen cookies.
