Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • molasses - 1/2 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • flour plain - 2 c
  • mixed spice allspice - 1 tsp

How to make molasses cake:

Cream butter and sugar. Add molasses, beaten egg and milk. Add flour with baking soda, baking powder, salt and spice. Mix well. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
