Moist pumpkin bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 4 item
- salt
- water - 2/3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- all-purpose flour
- ground cloves - 1 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- cooked pumpkin - 2 c
- raisins, plumped - 2/3 c
- pecans or walnuts, ground - 2/3 c
How to make moist pumpkin bread:
Cream shortening. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs. Mix well. Stir in pumpkin and water. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Add to cream mixture, mixing well. Fold in nuts and raisins. Spoon into well-greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until bread tests done. Makes 32 servings.
