Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • water - 2 c
  • cream of tartar - 2 tsp
  • cinnamon to taste
  • Hi Ho crackers whole - 25 item
  • butter stick type - 1/4 c

How to make mock apple pie:

Bring water, sugar and cream of tartar to a hard boil, then drop in Hi Ho crackers and let boil 2 minutes, without stirring, but be sure all crackers are covered with mixture. Pour in pie crust and top with cinnamon and cut up butter. Put on top crust and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in moderate oven (350°) until golden brown.
