Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 2 oz
  • water - 1/2 c
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • shredded cheese - 1 c
  • some milk or cream - 1 item
  • pinch of nutmeg - 1 item
  • pinch of thyme - 1 item
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • soft bread cubes - 2 c

How to make mixed vegetable casserole:

Combine the first 5 ingredients; bring to a boil. Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.

Make cream sauce with vegetable water, plus milk or cream to measure 2 cups, the nutmeg, thyme, flour and 1/4 cup butter. Put vegetables in casserole. Top with 2 cups soft bread cubes (3 slices). Dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Bake for 30 minutes at 300°.
