Mixed vegetable casserole
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 2 oz
- water - 1/2 c
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- salt to taste - 1 item
- shredded cheese - 1 c
- some milk or cream - 1 item
- pinch of nutmeg - 1 item
- pinch of thyme - 1 item
- flour - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- soft bread cubes - 2 c
How to make mixed vegetable casserole:
Combine the first 5 ingredients; bring to a boil. Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.Make cream sauce with vegetable water, plus milk or cream to measure 2 cups, the nutmeg, thyme, flour and 1/4 cup butter. Put vegetables in casserole. Top with 2 cups soft bread cubes (3 slices). Dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Bake for 30 minutes at 300°.
