  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/3 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 3 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • self-rising flour - 2 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • Icing:1 stick margarine

How to make mississippi mud cake:

Icing:1 stick margarine1/3 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla3 Tbsp. cocoa1 box powdered sugar Combine margarine, Crisco, cocoa and water in a saucepan. Heat until melted and then add sugar and flour. In separate bowl, combine eggs, vanilla, buttermilk and soda. Combine both mixtures and stir well. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes. Before pouring icing on cake, place mini marshmallows on top of hot cake.

Combine icing ingredients in saucepan over low heat. Pour over cake.
