  • flour - 3/4 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • cans chicken broth - 3 item
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • onion, chopped - 3/4 c
  • slivered almonds - 3 4
  • celery, chopped - 3/4 c
  • cans water - 3 item
  • carrots, chopped - 3/4 c
  • wild rice - 3/4 c
  • ham, chopped - 3/4 c
  • or less half and half if you like it rich or 1 qt - 1 qt

How to make minnesota wild rice soup:

Wash rice well and drain. Cook rice in chicken broth and water for approximately 45 minutes. While rice is cooking, saute vegetables in margarine until transparent. Add flour and stir until thickened. Add rice and chicken stock to vegetables, stirring constantly. Add seasonings, ham, almonds and cream or milk. Heat.
