Microwave caramel popcorn
Ingredients/Components
- popped corn - 4 qts
- cup brown sugar - 1 item
- cup butter or margarine - 1/2 item
- cup light corn syrup - 1/4 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
How to make microwave caramel popcorn:
Place popped corn in large paper grocery bag. (Don't pop in oil or salt.) In one quart measuring bowl mix together: brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt. Cook 2 minutes on high, stir. Cook 2 minutes more on high. Add baking soda to hot syrup and stir until mixture foams and thickens. Pour over corn in bag. Shake well. Fold top of bag down and close and cook as follows:1 1/2 minutes on high - shake.
1 1/2 minutes on high - shake.
45 seconds on high - shake.
30 seconds on high - shake.
Spread on dry surface to cool. Store in airtight container.
