Mexican cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 1 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- oleo - 1/4 c
- grated cheese - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- onion - 1 item
- can cream-style corn - 1 item
- white corn meal - 2 c
- whole jalapeno peppers optional - 3 item
How to make mexican cornbread:
Brown ground beef and onion. Drain and pat with paper towels to remove excess oil. Mix all remaining ingredients except cheese. Pour 1/2 of cornbread into greased skillet. Top with meat and then cheese. Add remaining cornbread. Bake at 350° until golden brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, North american.
