Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • baking powder - 1 Tbsp
  • oleo - 1/4 c
  • grated cheese - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • onion - 1 item
  • can cream-style corn - 1 item
  • white corn meal - 2 c
  • whole jalapeno peppers optional - 3 item

How to make mexican cornbread:

Brown ground beef and onion. Drain and pat with paper towels to remove excess oil. Mix all remaining ingredients except cheese. Pour 1/2 of cornbread into greased skillet. Top with meat and then cheese. Add remaining cornbread. Bake at 350° until golden brown.
