Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- cornmeal - 1 c
- chopped onion - 1 item
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 item
- grated cheese - 1 c
- ground meat - 1 lb
- can cream-style corn - 1 item
- jalapenos to taste - 1 item
How to make mexican cornbread:
Brown 1 pound ground meat, onion, green pepper and jalapenos. Mix remaining ingredients into batter. Spread a layer of 1/2 batter, meat, then remaining batter. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, North american.
