  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • cooking oil - 1/4 c
  • ground beef
  • green onions - 1 c
  • Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb
  • corn meal - 1 c
  • corn cream-style - 1 c
  • jalapeno pepper or more - 1 item

How to make mexican cornbread:

Meat Mixture:1 lb. ground beef1 c. green onions1 jalapeno pepper (or more)1/4 c. cooking oil1 c. corn (cream-style) Bread Batter:1/2 c. flour1 c. corn meal2 tsp. sugar1/4 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. baking powder1 egg1 c. milk Brown meat, onions, peppers and cooking oil in skillet. Add corn; let simmer few minutes. Heat another skillet; grease bottom. Pour half of batter in skillet; pour meat mixture on top. Lay cheese on meat mixture. Pour rest of batter on top. Bake at 350° until done.
