- sugar - 2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- cooking oil - 1/4 c
- ground beef
- green onions - 1 c
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb
- corn meal - 1 c
- corn cream-style - 1 c
- jalapeno pepper or more - 1 item
How to make mexican cornbread:
Meat Mixture:1 lb. ground beef1 c. green onions1 jalapeno pepper (or more)1/4 c. cooking oil1 c. corn (cream-style) Bread Batter:1/2 c. flour1 c. corn meal2 tsp. sugar1/4 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. baking powder1 egg1 c. milk Brown meat, onions, peppers and cooking oil in skillet. Add corn; let simmer few minutes. Heat another skillet; grease bottom. Pour half of batter in skillet; pour meat mixture on top. Lay cheese on meat mixture. Pour rest of batter on top.
