Mexican cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- soda - 1/3 tsp
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- cheese - 1/2 lb
- onion - 1 item
- can cream-style corn - 1 item
- bacon grease - 1/4 c
- hamburger, browned - 1 lb
- cornmeal yellow - 1 c
- jalapeno peppers as desired - 1 item
How to make mexican cornbread:
Mix cornmeal, soda, salt, milk, eggs, corn and bacon grease. Grease pan; cover with yellow cornmeal and brown. Layer half of cornmeal mixture on the bottom of pan, then layer peppers, hamburger, onions and cheese. Put remaining half of cornmeal mixture on top.
