Ingredients/Components
- buttermilk - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- cooking oil - 2/3 c
- cream-style corn - 1 c
- grated sharp cheese - 1 c
- self-rising cornmeal
- large bell pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- or 3 hot peppers, chopped - 2 item
How to make mexican cornbread:
Preheat oven to 375°. Mix all ingredients except cheese. Pour half the batter into a greased and floured pan (9 x 13-inches). Sprinkle the cheese over the top and add remaining batter. Bake at 375° for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, North american.
