Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 item
- grated cheese - 1/2 lb
- hamburger - 1 lb
- bacon drippings - 3 Tbsp
- corn meal - 1 c
- sweet milk - 1 c
- to 4 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped - 3 item
- small can creamed corn - 1 item
How to make mexican corn bread:
Mix eggs, meal, milk, soda, corn and drippings together and set aside. Cook hamburger and onion together; drain. Add cheese and peppers. Grease and meal skillet. Pour half bread mixture into skillet; add meat mixture and cover with rest of bread. Bake at 450° until done.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Breads, Mexican.
