Mexican coffee
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- water - 5 c
- sweetened whipped cream - 1 item
- firmly packed dark brown sugar - 1/4 c
- chocolate syrup - 1/3 c
- ground cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- ground dark roast coffee - 1/2 c
- ground cinnamon garnish - 1 item
How to make mexican coffee:
Place coffee in coffee filter or filter basket; add cinnamon and nutmeg. Add water to coffeemaker and brew. Combine brown sugar, chocolate syrup and milk in a large heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until brown sugar dissolves. Stir in coffee and vanilla. Serve immediately with a dollop of whipped cream; garnish, if desired.
