Mexican beef pie
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- sliced stuffed olives - 1/2 c
- pastry for 9-inch 2 crust pie
- can Spanish-style tomato sauce - 1 oz
How to make mexican beef pie:
Line 9-inch pie plate with half of the pastry. Heat oil in skillet; saute onion and green pepper 5 minutes. Add beef; cook until browned, stirring frequently. Add seasonings and tomato sauce; cook over low heat 15 minutes. Let cool. Add olives. Turn mixture into pastry shell. Roll out remaining pastry; cut into thin strips. Arrange over meat in lattice pattern. Bake in preheated 400° oven 35 to 40 minutes or until pastry is well browned. Yields 5 or 6 servings.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Main dish, One Dish meal.
