  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • chili sauce - 1/2 c
  • instant minced onion - 1 Tbsp
  • soda cracker crumbs - 1/2 c
  • green olives, sliced - 4 item
  • sweet pepper flakes - 2 Tbsp
  • slices crisp crumbled bacon - 6 item
  • or 9-inch unbaked pastry shell - 8 item
  • can corn with sweet peppers, drained - 1 oz
  • Add ground beef, corn, cracker crumbs, chili sauce, sweet peppers, onion and oregano

How to make mexicali meat pie:

Beat egg slightly in mixing bowl. Add ground beef, corn, cracker crumbs, chili sauce, sweet peppers, onion and oregano. Mix well. Press meat mixture firmly into pastry shell. Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes. Spread topping (recipe follows) on filling. Top with olives and bacon. Bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.Mexicali Meat Pie Topping:1 egg, slightly beaten2 Tbsp. milk1/2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. dry mustard1/2 tsp.
