Meatless lasagna
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1/2 lb
- margarine or butter - 3 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- can tomatoes, cut up and undrained - 1 oz
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- water - 1/2 c
- 1/2 lb - 2 c
- basil leaves - 1/2 Tbsp
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can mixed vegetables, drained - 1 oz
How to make meatless lasagna:
Prepare lasagna according to package directions; drain. In large saucepan, melt margarine. Add onion and celery; cook until tender. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, water, basil, sugar, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes.In greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan, layer 1/3 each lasagna, vegetables, sauce and cheese. Repeat layers. Bake in a 350° oven until hot and bubbly, 30 to 40 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Refrigerate or freeze leftovers. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
