Ingredients/Components
- 9-inch pie crusts unbaked - 2 item
- round steak or stew meat, cut in small pieces - 1 item
- carrots, cut in slices - 1 item
- potatoes, sliced in thin slices - 1 item
- onion, diced or cut into thin slices - 1 item
- stick margarine - 1 item
How to make meat pie:
Line a 9-inch pie plate with one nine-inch pie crust. Layer first with meat, then potatoes, carrots and onions. Season to taste. Repeat the layer again. If using a deep-dish pie plate, you may be able to get three layers. On top of the last layer, top with 1 stick of margarine sliced and placed all over the top (sometimes I don't use a whole stick). Then top with the other 9-inch pie crust; flute edges and cut slits in top of the crust. Place on cookie sheet and bake in oven for 2 hours at 200°.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Savory pies.
