  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • cocoa - 6 Tbsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • mayonnaise - 1 c

How to make mayonnaise cake:

Polk Cake Frosting:4 Tbsp. flour1 c. milk1/2 c. shortening1 c. sugar1/2 c. butter1 tsp. vanilla2 Tbsp. cocoa dash of salt Cake: Mix water and soda together, then put in the last of the ingredients. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes in two 8-inch layer cake pans.

Polk Cake Frosting: Cook flour and milk until thick. Let stand and cool. Add the last 6 ingredients after it is cool. Mix with mixer until smooth.
