  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • flour
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch
  • water - 8 Tbsp
  • egg yolks - 4 item
  • egg whites, beaten stiff - 4 item
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • bananas, sliced - 4 item
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item

How to make martha washington pie:

Filling:1 Tbsp. cornstarch8 Tbsp. sugar2 Tbsp. butter2 c. milk2 well beaten eggs pinch of salt2 tsp. vanilla4 bananas, sliced Mix the first 6 ingredients together. Add the stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in loaf pan at 350° for 50 minutes. Split and fill with the filling.

Filling: Stir the first 4 ingredients until cooked. Add the eggs, salt and vanilla. Cool; add the sliced bananas.
