Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • confectioners sugar - 2 lb
  • can sweetened condensed milk - 1 item
  • margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • paraffin wax - 1/4 lb
  • unsweetened baking chocolate - 8 sq
  • nuts, coconut and candied fruit - 1 qt

How to make martha washington candy:

Mix sugar, margarine, milk, vanilla, nuts, coconut and candied fruit. Butter hands and roll mixture into small balls about 1/2-inch in diameter. Place on cookie sheet and place in refrigerator to cool.

Melt chocolate and paraffin wax in a double boiler. Coat each ball with chocolate mixture. Toothpicks work well to dip the balls in chocolate. Place on cookie sheet and refrigerate.
