Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 3 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • can coconut - 1 oz
  • can Eagle Brand milk - 1 item
  • boxes confectioners sugar - 2 item
  • cake paraffin - 3/4 item
  • 1/4 sticks margarine - 1 item

How to make martha washington candy:

Melt butter to lukewarm; mix nuts, coconut, sugar and milk. Add butter and vanilla. Roll into little balls and place on cookie sheet covered with waxed paper. Stick a toothpick into each ball. Put in freezer about 15 or 20 minutes.

Melt paraffin and chocolate in double boiler and dip each ball in. Hold about 2 seconds or until chocolate hardens. It takes a big bowl to mix this in. Sometimes you have to knead it with your hands like biscuit dough.
