Marinated coleslaw
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1 c
- salad oil - 3/4 c
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- large green pepper - 1 item
- large head cabbage - 1 item
- large onion - 1 item
How to make marinated coleslaw:
Shred cabbage into large bowl. Shred or thinly slice onion and pepper on top of cabbage. Sprinkle sugar to cover entire top. Do not stir! Then bring to a boil the salad oil, vinegar and dry seasonings. Pour over other ingredients while hot. Do not stir! Refrigerate at least 4 hours; overnight is better.
