Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • salt
  • olive or vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
  • basil - 2 Tbsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • small onion, chopped - 1 item
  • garlic cloves, minced - 2 item
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz

How to make marinara sauce:

In a 2-quart saucepan, over medium heat, in the 2 tablespoons oil, cook garlic and onion until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, their liquid and remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to low. Cover; cook for 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
