Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour - 1 c
  • semi-sweet chocolate chips - 16 oz
  • soda - 1/2 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • margarine, softened - 1/2 c
  • plus 2 Tbsp - 1/4 c

How to make marble squares:

Heat oven to 375°. Grease oblong pan. Mix butter, sugars and vanilla. Beat in egg. Blend in flour, soda and salt; mix in walnuts. Spread in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of dough. Place in oven for 1 minute. Remove and run knife through dough to marbleize. Return to oven. Bake 12 to 14 minutes. Cut into squares.
